Better than Google Earth?
I’m glad to see that the master of satelites, NASA, has got in on the “earth” scene, by producing an open source product to rival Google Earth. It’s called World Wind and can do more than just satelite images, it can also do weather data and more. It’s open source, so it would be an interesting program to use the source to create a strategy game with the real world.
SP2 Woes
If there are too many holes, there is not much wall left in your firewall.
It’s true. Microsoft know a lot about security holes. And now, they’ve admitted it! I installed SP2 on Wednesday, and instantly regretted it. It’s a waste of time; I don’t use the internet from my PC, so don’t need ‘Advanced Security Technologies’. It took years to install. Everything runs even slower now. I had to spend half an hour killing off the Security Center (surely cent
re? no localisation?) bubbles from the system tray. It’s gone and reset half my registry so my lovely interface hacks have to be re-entered. And there’s a big black gap where the startup screen is meant to say Home Edition!! WHY?!
