Windows Vista

Finally…Microsoft have released Windows Vista (codename Longhorn) on their website. Apparently Microsoft’ll release the first beta in early August to IT professionals. There is no release date, save “arriving 2006″. Click here to see more. Well, not much more to be honest. Most of the space is taken up by two people on a beach or an iceberg or something equally unrelated to computers.

Hmmm, why not Longhorn, It sounded nicer, although even that was still stupid. “Windows Vista sounds as if it was taken from a staybrite windows advert!

Longhorn was only the code name, it was called longhorn because it’s the midway between XP and Blackcomb and I think there’s a bar called Longhorn in the Blackcomb ski resort, or something along those lines.

Windows Vista: Beta 1 Screenshots

Microsoft has suggested that the interface may undergo further modification before the final version is released, so this is really just a teaser.
